Trufacial Receives Patent

Trufacial Receives Patent for Innovative Dual-Function Plates Integrated Into Its Handheld Skin Rejuvenation System for Simultaneous Delivery of Specific Skin Perfecting Methods

Trufacial Device & Serums

Philadelphia, PA, October 18, 2023 — Trufacial,™ a leading innovator of at-home medical skincare technology with professional-grade results, is proud to announce the issuance of its first granted patent (US Patent #11,786,438 B2) related to its groundbreaking handheld system for facial skin rejuvenation. This patent specifically covers Trufacial’s three dual-function plates that are integrated, one at a time, onto the front end, each for a specific skincare procedure. This novel utility patent optimizes the way Trufacial’s three treatment technologies are delivered to promote smoother, firmer and more toned skin.

The Trufacial skin perfecting system has garnered widespread attention for its ability to combine microdermabrasion for skin exfoliation; massage for enhanced blood flow circulation; and micro-needling for absorption and deep penetration of its powerhouse serums, resulting in visible improvements in skin texture and appearance.

According to Trufacial co-founder Dr. Mahmoud El-Sherif, “This patent recognizes the pioneering use of dual-function plates that can simultaneously apply two compatible skincare methods, maximizing the skin's response to specific treatments. Further, each plate is tailored to a specific skincare application, ensuring precision and effectiveness in addressing a variety of skin concerns.” Dr. El-Sherif is an inventor in the field of microelectronics, fiber optics, and biomedical engineering with over 45 years of experience in R&D, and prototype development plus 30 granted patents.

"We are thrilled to have received this patent for our dual-function plates, as they represent a significant milestone in our journey to elevate at-home, medical-grade skin rejuvenation solutions with professional-grade aesthetic results," said Dina El-Sherif, founder and CEO of Trufacial. "Grounded in science, system design and engineering excellence, this patent underscores the uniqueness of our approach and the potential it holds for transforming skin health and beauty anytime, anywhere." A seasoned product development manager, national sales director and clinical trainer, Dina has deep experience in commercializing and launching new technology.

In a second pending patent's application (US Application 18,465,258, filed on 09/12/2023), the methodology of using a single universal system for application of several skincare techniques has been recognized and disclosed. This patent pending method presents a simple and cost-effective approach for future expansion of the Trufacial system for multiple other applications.

Ms. El-Sherif added “that the pending patent application recently filed on the methodology claims another novel type of a dual-function plate using a laser heating approach for skin treatment. This signifies a growth trajectory of potential future expansion that facilitates smart integration of new and different treatment modalities that can be applied with the same Trufacial system.”

Trufacial’s 3-step process – refresh, repair and renew skin -- performed once a week aims to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, restore moisturization for greater skin elasticity, impart antioxidant protection for smoother texture and a more even skin tone, and help reduce acne breakouts and acne scarring via the diamond tip. In less than 10 minutes, users will once again fall in love with their skin health and beauty.

Key features of the Trufacial system include:

  • Single Skincare System: Instead of using a different system for each skincare step, a single system is used for several skincare applications. The system is designed in a compact structure and in light weight for handheld use at home or anywhere.
  • Simultaneous Application: Each of the skin-system-interface-plates is a dual-function plate, designed to apply two compatible skincare procedures at the same time, eliminating the need for separate treatments and maximizing the skin’s instantaneous response to the applied specific procedure, as well as saving valuable time.
  • Customizable Treatments: Users can easily switch between different modes via dual-function plates for personalized skincare routines tailored to their unique needs and goals.
  • Enhanced Results: The synergy of simultaneously applying two complementary skincare procedures maximizes the effectiveness of each treatment, resulting in more noticeable and lasting improvements in perfecting skin texture, tone, and overall health.
  • Future Expansion: It is easy, simple, and inexpensive to design and clip-on a new dual-function plate for a new skincare procedure, as claimed in the patent pending application, for a novel laser heating treatment.
